Chris Easthope earned his BA in Communications and History from Western Michigan University in 1990, and his Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, in 1995. In Law School, he was on the Dean's list, president of the student assembly, and participated in the 60+ legal clinic. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1996.

Chris is an elected member of the Ann Arbor City Council and Mayor Pro Tem.
